LONDON: Snapdeal has introduced ‘Snap-lite’, the mobile optimised version of snapdeal.com. The timing of the announcement is quite interesting as it comes just about four days after its rival Flipkart announced its own mobile website called ‘Flipkart Lite’. e-Commerce giants who were pushing all their users to download and install their mobile apps might have realised that the strategy forcing the users doesn’t work.

Anand Chandrasekaran, the chief product officer at Delhi based Snapdeal, informed about the launch of Snapdeal-lite through a tweet. He informed that the analysis of traffic to Snapdeal revealed that about 33% of the website’s overall traffic comes from slower Internet connections. Snap-lite will make Snapdeal run about 85% faster on slower connections enhancing the overall shopping experience for the users.
