SOFIA: Barley exports from Bulgaria reached 92 KMT during July – November 2015 against 183 KMT during the same period last year.
The main reason is a drop in barley crop by 12% (up to 705 KMT), while the average yield of barley in the country this year reached 4.10 MT / ha being 4% higher than last year’s figure.
Low production profitability and competition with Ukraine and Russia have led to barley acreage reduction in Bulgaria by 15% in 2015.
