TUCSON: An Arizona woman is accused of trying to smuggle marijuana into the U.S. in the gas tank of her vehicle.
Christina Leifried, 35, of Laveen, was arrested Sunday at the Port of Lukeville after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found more than 56 pounds of marijuana in her Ford Expedition.
Investigators said the drugs are worth an estimated $28,000.
Officers processed the vehicle and drugs for seizure and referred Leifried to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
