FBR’s intelligence wing starts reconnaissance of elite fashion designers in Karachi

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), intelligence arm, has started keeping an eye on the elite fashion designers operating in the port city to increase tax net, Customs Today has learnt.

The sources told Customs Today that the FBR’s intelligence wing has started reconnaissance of the well reputed and famous fashions designers in the city.

In this regard, various teams have been constituted to keep vigil on the fashion designers particularly at Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, DHA’s Zamama Street, and in major shopping plaza, sources added.

According to sources, the intelligence authorities recently raided various outlets of Bonanza Garments and recovered millions of rupees taxes. Besides, the FBR authorities had also devised a policy to run after the fashion designers who are allegedly involved in suppression of sales tax, sources concluded.
