Govt focusing on Pakistan-China trade corridor

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said his ministry has focused on materialising the dream of Pakistan-China trade corridor.

Ahsan said that his ministry focused on preparing the Vision 2025. He said that the Vision 2025 was finalised after consultation with all relevant quarters and analysing the development plans of developed nations.

Ahsan said that the government has set the target to achieve six percent growth rate until 2018 and the implementation of the Vision 2025 is key priority of the Ministry of Planning and Development. He said a Monitoring and Delivery Unit has been formed for this purpose.

He said that Planning Commission has been revived and staffed with top class human resource to realize the Government’s development goals. He said we have helped save five hundred billion rupees during the last fifteen months because of better scrutiny of projects. He emphasized the need for enhancing development fund to gear up the growth rate as well as transfer the fruits of development to the common man.

Ahsan said they are also working on civil service reforms. It is a five step process and will be completed in three months. He said Key Performance Indicators have been formed on institutional level.
