Every vehicle owner has deposited Rs 450 for the computerized number plates, but the government blacklisted the company in 2012 which was authorised to issue computerized number plates.

Since then, no number plate has been issued to the applicants due to which, 150,000 people have been deprived of the number plate for the last three years.

The applicants have urged Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Commissioner Gujranwala Division Shamail Ahmed Khawaja to ensure the issuance of number plates.

When contacted, the senior officials of the Excise and Taxation, they said that they had repeatedly brought this situation into the notice of the provincial high ups of the Excise and Taxation Department but the computerized number plates have not yet been provided to them due to unknown reasons.
