Faisalabad Custom Adjudication declares confiscation of 360 jackets lawful

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and declared the confiscation of 360 pieces of men’s jackets lawful.

As per details, Faisalabad ASO following credible information intercepted a bus bearing Registration No. LWC-4376 coming from Peshawar to Faisalabad. The officials while checking recovered jackets and asked the owners named Muhammad Idrees, Muhammad Ishaq to provide the documents regarding the payment of taxes but they could not to do so; therefore, customs seized the items.

Later, the case was heard by adjudication where the deputy collector issued ONO in favour of customs. However, the confiscated goods get be released by the accused persons upon payment of redemption fine equivalent to the 20 percent of the total value.
