BEIJING: China’s stocks surged on Friday before the release of trade data tomorrow.
The Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) soared 0.6 percent to 2,439.36 at 11:14am, extending gains this week to 0.8 percent. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) fell 0.3 percent. The Shanghai index has advanced 15 percent this year, compared with the H-shares index’s 2.6 percent loss, as funds flowed into mainland equities before the start of the link. The Hang Seng China AH Premium Index climbed 0.7 percent today to approach parity.
