Tevta, UAF launch agri, livestock courses

LAHORE: Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and University of Agriculture Faisalabad have joined hands to train the youth in agriculture and livestock sector.

Three months short courses in PoultryFarming (Controlled Shed) and Dairy Technician Trades will be offered according to the details of this MoU. The purpose of this MoU is to provide trained manpower to poultry farms and dairies equipped with the right set of technical skills and professional knowledge.

Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan signed the MoU. Tevta Board Members Ali Pervez Malik, Hamid Malhi, officers Akhtar Abbass Bharwana, Abdul Qayyum, Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Maqsood Ahmed, Dr Iftikhar Hussain, Sarfraz Anwar and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Qaiser Sheikh, addressing the participants, said that the Tevta with the collaboration of Agriculture University will provide skilled workers in trades like poultry farming (controlled shed) and dairy technician. These courses will be offered at Agriculture University Faisalabad.

About 400 students will be trained annually in these three months short courses. Middle preferably matric pass Candidates having age of 18 to 35 years will be eligible for admission. No fees will be charges and Rs1000 per month stipend will be given to the trainees during their training period. University of Agriculture Faisalabad will take examination while certificate will jointly be issued by the Tevta and UAF.
