ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for China on Friday to attend the annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Beijing. He will sign a number of agreements and MoUs.
“Most of the agreements are related to field of energy” while there will be some other agreements also, Foreign Office spokesperson said.
The PM will hold meetings with the Chinese President and discuss regional situation including bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is visiting China on the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Informal Leaders’ meeting in Beijing.
An annual APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting is attended by the heads of government of all APEC members. The location of the meeting rotates annually among members, and this time it’s going to be held in Beijing.
During the visit, the two countries will sign agreements worth 35 billion dollars investment in Pakistan. They include 14 projects relating to 10,400 MW electricity generation, besides several contracts for infrastructure development and development of Gwadar Port in Balochistan.
These also include construction of Khuzdar-Gwadar road as part of China-Pakistan economic corridor.
The two countries would also sign agreements for cooperation in railways and establishment of special economic zones.
