Hyderabad ASO seizes 18,631 liters Iranian diesel

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Hyderabad has confiscated 18,631 liters of smuggled HSD Iranian diesel. The market value of seized Iranian diesel is Rs 1,524,705 involving  duty  and taxes amounting to Rs 784,363 during an operation in Hyderabad.

Sources told Customs Today that customs collector Ahmed Mujtaba Memon ordered to take effective measures to curb smuggling.

Sources said that Additional collector Hyderabad Omar Shafique  received information regarding smuggling of Iranian diesel after which he formed a ASO team comprising deputy superintendent Sikander Akbar Pahnwar seizing  officer Khair Mohammad Pathan inspector Momin Shah and sepoys, driver and other  participated  in operation .

The ASO team intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration No- C-2769 near New City Hyderabad Mirpur Khas Road  at Hyderabad  and  recovered smuggled  18,631 liters  of HSD  Iranian diesel including oil tanker.

The ASO team asked accused persons to produce legal documents regarding possession of vehicle and diesel but they failed to provide the same. After this ASO team seized the diesel and tanker and registered a case against accused persons.
