Saudi Customs foils attempt to smuggle 5, 000 pills

JEDDAH: Customs authorities at the King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah foiled an attempt to smuggle 5,000 Prazolam pills hidden in a suitcase.

Abdullah Al-Falai, director general of Customs at KAIA, said that the officers suspected a bag of one of the passengers.

After placing the suitcase under a machine and manual inspection, the officers found the contraband covered with black tape and kept under the clothes, he said. “A total of 5,010 pills were found.”

Al-Falai explained that Prazolam is a sedative that pose huge health risks. He said that this type of drug is prevented from entering the Kingdom to protect the citizens.
