LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi raised the demand while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Cosmetics Manufacturers Association (PCMA) led by its Chairman Sheikh Abdul Hameed here.

He pointed out that SRO 412(1)2014 would deprive a large number of people of affordable treatment. He said that herbal and homeopathic were considered the cheapest ways of treatment but implementation of the SRO, the poor would not be able to avail these facilities.

He urged the government to develop a policy on alternative healthcare products in line with the international practices and requirement of the sector. He said that regulations should be made and implemented with a purpose of developing this sector. Ghaznavi urged the government to withdraw the SRO in best interests of over 190 million people.
