ASO Faisalabad seizes art silk cloth worth Rs 1.76m

FAISALABAD: The Anti smuggling organization (ASO) has seized a imported silk cloth 46 rolls containing net weight 2476 kilograms worth Rs 1.76 million involving duty and taxes worth Rs 5,88,492.

According to details the smuggled cloth was being transported from Lahore to Faisalabad through a bus bearing Registration No. FDI- 7121. ASO team intercepted smuggled cloth near Lal mill chowk Tota cloth market from Rana Ishtiaq Goods forwarding agency Faisalabad.

ASO official asked the accused to produce legal documentary evidence of the said cloth but the accused failed to produce any documents relating to its legal import.

Art silk cloth has been seized under the relevant provision of the import and export (Control) act 1950, section 156 (1) 89(i) of the customs act 1969.ASO loged an FIR against accused Muhammad Amjad ( Munshi Rana Ishtiaq Agency ) and Ammar Yasir ( Employee of Rana Agency ).

ASO detecting staff consisting of Muhammad Javed Mehmood (superintendent) Muhammad Sardar ( Deputy sapient ) Abdul Jabbar and Masood Saeed Chohan (inspector) Asrar Ahmad Haffiz Naseer Ahmad ( Sepoy). Furthermore the Seizure report has forwarded to adjudication department for further investigation in this regard.
