BISP recognised as exemplary social safety programme in world: President

THATTA: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the government is further expanding Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which is recognised as an exemplary social safety programme in the region and the world.

He said this while addressing the launching ceremony of Waseela Taleem programme in Thatta. The President said the skill development scheme under the BISP is playing a pivotal role in addressing poverty. He called for imparting vocational training to the poor families getting financial assistance under the program to stand on their own feet. Mamnoon Hussain also called for expanding Waseela Taleem program to all parts of the country.
