63% of employed Albanians in private sector work in service, trade industries

TIRANA: About 63 percent of the employed Albanians in the private sector of the economy are working in the service and trade industries, Albanian Daily News newspaper reported Saturday, citing results of a recent study conducted by Albanian Institute of Statistics.

The study compared the number of employed people in several service industries in 2014 with the number in 2013.

Some 25 percent of the total number of the employed people in the private sector of the economy are working in the trade industry while 10 percent are working in the hotel and restaurant industries, the study showed.

About 8 percent of the total number of the employed Albanians in the private sector of the economy are working in telecommunication and transport industries.

Official figures also showed that the number of employers in Albania has increased in 2014 compared with the level in 2013.
