KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) after receiving complaints from importers directed the departments concerned to speed up the process of containers examination.
Sources of Pakistan International Terminal Containers told Customs Today that FBR directed to all departments concerned to complete 80 percent examination of containers on the day of their grounding. Sources further said that after receiving such instructions from FBR, authorities are completing almost 60% of examination process on the same day, but they are still failed to complete 40% examination.
While on the other hand, one importer after hailing this step of FBR told this scribe that we have written many letters to FBR authorities asking them to direct the department concerned to speed up process of containers examination, and now we are getting positive result of our request.
