UAE, US non-oil trade reaches AED69b in 9 months

DUBAI: The non-oil trade exchange between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America rose by four per cent during the first nine months of 2015 to reach AED69 billion, compared with AED66.3bn for the same period in 2014, according to the US Census Bureau.

UAE exports to the US amounted to AED6.86bn during the period from January until the end of September 2015, compared with AED7.8bn for the same period last year, Alittihad reports.

On the other hand, US exports to the UAE increased to reach AED62.1bn, compared with AED58.4bn for the same period last year, reveals data released by the US Census Bureau.

The UAE accounted for 29 per cent of the total US-GCC trade during the January-to-September period in 2015, estimated at AED237.8bn, the data showed.

Furthermore, the UAE accounted for more than 41.3 per cent of US exports to the GCC states during the first nine months of the year, which amounted to approximately AED150bn.

According to the data, the UAE is the largest destination for US exports to the Middle East with imports amounting to AED62.1bn, followed by Saudi Arabia with imports worth AED53.6bn.
