KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Tuesday directed the investigation officer to submit final challan in a case pertaining to the illegal export of donkey hides.

Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi adjourned the hearing till January 7 asking the IO to submit the challan at the next hearing.  On October 17, the customs authorities confiscated 1,200 donkey hides and 2,500 kilograms of goat hair from a consignment destined for Hong Kong.

M/s Nival International filed general declaration of the consignment which was declared to contain 2,500 kilograms of goat hair and 1,200 wet salted dry skins. During physical examination, wet salted dry skins found to be donkey hides which could not be exported since the government placed a ban on their export.
