Govt urged to speed up work on CPEC

LAHORE: The representative of local business community has urged the government to ensure fast-track work on ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project to match the pace of work being done by the Chinese government on its portion of the project.

Pakistan Industrial & Traders Associations Front acting Chairman Tanveer Ahmed Sufi, in a statement, said that successful completion of Pak-China Economic Corridor would help usher in a new era of development in the country.

Tanveer Ahmed Sufi gave these remarks while meeting with a group of businessmen at his office. Stressing the importance of regional connectivity, he said that the business community is excited and eager to want the early completion of the projects, as these projects will lead to exploring new markets. He urged the government for all out efforts to bring foreign investment into the country.

Terming the prevalence of stability and peace as essential, Tanveer said that no development goal could be achieved without security or stability in the country. Every segment flourishes in a peaceful environment and the government should make strides in achieving this goal”, he said. He asked the government to follow a policy based on no compromise on achieving peace and stability which in turn is proving fruitful in gaining economic prosperity and well being.
