ISLAMABAD: Existing Division Bench of Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad, would become dysfunctional in a couple of weeks as Member Technical, Muhammad Yahya, is retiring on December 15.
Chairman Customs Appellate Tribunal, Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti had established a special division bench by escorting Yahya after Member Technical, Khalid Mehmood, was posted as Managing Director of Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC).
According to CAT sources, the chairman had to appoint another member technical from any regional office to form the division bench subsequent to Yahya’s retirement on December 15.
Member Technical, Khalid Mehmood had heard cases in Islamabad as part of division bench on November 18. Yahya would be part of division bench likely to take on hearings on coming December 8 too.
