Addressing the members of Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, Hussain valued the role of PTEA in national economy and said that although under Trade Organisations Act 2013, his office had been renamed as Regulator of Trade Organisations but it still believed in facilitating the trade and industry and all chambers and associations would be taken on board in policy making.

Earlier, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) Chairman Sohail Pasha in his welcome address briefly enlightened about the core functions of PTEA as the biggest trade association of textile exporters in the country.

He said that PTEA was a symbol of entrepreneurship, hard work, determination, dedication and patriotism, established in 1985 as All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association by some enterprising exporters taking initiative to tap huge potential of textile export from this region. From year to year, the association grew bigger and bigger. In 2004, its name was changed to Pakistan Textile Exporters Association to expand its scope.

Membership of the association which was a few at the start has grown over the years with 200 plus at the moment. It acts as a forward post of Pakistani textile exports abroad. Its main objective is to aid and stimulate the development of textile industry and exports by removing hurdles and irritants on the path of progress.

PTEA facilitates its members by dissemination of textile related researches and new developments, market inquiries, issuance of certificate of origin, visa recommendations, providing tax consultancy, participation in international fairs and exhibitions, legal aid, local business arbitration and e-police services with collaboration of Punjab Police. The association arranges meetings of its members with bankers, FBR officials, departmental heads and government high-ups to exchange their views. Awareness seminars and workshops on different issues are also arranged by PTEA for facilitation of its members. In addition to export development activities, the association actively partakes in social uplifts.

Health and community services in the city like upgrading Faisalabad Airport, motorcycles for police patrolling, establishment of Hajj complex, heart foundation trust, lever foundation trust, earthquake relief activities, help to gastro epidemic, roads beautification, traffic signal installation, establishment of CRO office are hallmark of the association.
