Two DBs formed to hear cases at Islamabad Customs Appellate Tribunal

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti has formed two Division Benches (DBs) to hear around 30 cases enlisted by the tribunal’s registrar office.

Customs Appellate Tribunal’s officials told the privy that two division benches were formed comprising of chairman and Member Technical, Muhammad Yahya, and another bench in which Member Technical, Muhammad Nasir Khan would accompany the chairman.

CAT officials told the privy that the bench comprising of chairman and Nasir would hold intensive hearing of cases as they were assign majority cases.

On the other hand, the bench comprising of chairman and Yahya, would hear only four cases since it was a Yahya’s farewell visit to the tribunal’s headquarters in the capital owing to his retirement on December 15.
