PESHAWAR: Senior Minister for Irrigation Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has ordered the authorities concerned to speed up construction work of small dams in the province.
The minister, during a briefing given to him on the progress of work on the small dams, said that no delay in construction of these dams would be tolerated.
Sherpao said that all the issues and problems hindering the timely completion of the small dams should be taken up with the quarters concerned so that the schemes were materialised without any delay and their benefits could reach the masses.
The senior minister was informed on this occasion that the Directorate General of Small Dams since its inception in 2003 had constructed as many as 13 dams up to 2014 in the province.
