DUBLIN: Gardai have seized fake handbags, shoes, makeup and boots worth more than €200,000.
The Michael KORS handbags, Converse shoes, MAC Makeup, UGG Boots were seized yesterday in Mullingar along with other goods.
The goods were destined to be sold in shops, town markets and on internet trading sites, gardai believe.
Gardai say the operation is still ongoing. They are liaising with brand protection managers in an effort to identify all of the goods.
Search were carried out at a number of premises in a joint operation involving Gardaí from Mullingar Garda Station, the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigations (NBCI) and Revenues Customs Service.
