Anti-Narcotics Court awards six month jail to heroin smuggler

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Special Court has sentenced a suspect six months jail and imposed Rs 15,000 fine in a heroin smuggling case.

According to details, the ANF team has arrested Bahadur Khan and recovered 1.5 kilograms of heroin from his possession at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIAP) Islamabad and registered a case of smuggling against him.

The Anti-Narcotics Special Court Judge Chudhery Anwar Ahmed Khan heard the case. During the investigations, proofs and witnesses were enough to prove his crime before the court; therefore, the court announced him to six months imprisonment and imposed Rs 15,000 fine.

In case of failure in payment of fine, he may face more jail imprisonment as well. The ANF presented a complete challan before the Court after the recovery of 1.5 kilograms of heroin from his possession.
