SIALKOT: The Punjab government has decided the “special audit” of the funds and all the development works of all the local bodies institutions in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat , Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts before handing over their charges to the newly elected representatives through the recently held LB polls there.
According to the senior officials, the local government department has formulated the special audit teams which would soon start the special audit of the funds of and all the development works in six district governments and 21 tehsil municipal administrations (TMAs) in Gujranwala Division, saying that the stern legal action would be taken against the concerned officials if the irregularities were found there during the special audit.
The officials added that the government had decided to conduct the special audit of the funds and development schemes before handing over the charge of the all the local bodies institutions to the newly elected public representatives in Gujranwala division.
The provincial government has also issued the special directives of the heads of the local bodies to keep their all the relevant records updated, in this regard.
The special audit teams have also been formed to start the special audit of the local bodies institutions in Gujranwala Division, the officials revealed.
