MOSCOW: Russia’s federal veterinary and phytosanitary supervisory authority, the Rosselkhoznadzor, has banned the import of third country fish products via Lithuania.
Russia will not be allowing in any fish products from third countries that have been unloaded and stored in Lithuania. The only exception applies to products that have been transported through the territory of Lithuania but that have not been opened. Rosselkhoznadzor specialists have been inspecting Lithuanian companies that produce and store fish products. The Russian agency claim that the system of transit cargo tracking in Lithuania is not transparent enough.
