Quetta Customs seizes smuggled goods

KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigations FBR Quetta has seized a huge quantity of smuggled aluminium sheets and aluminium scrap. While in another operation, the Customs authorities have taken into custody smuggled carpets and generators.

Sources said that the Customs authorities received information regarding the smuggling of the items. The Customs authorities have geared up surveillance in specified areas. During the road checking, the Customs team seized four ton aluminium sheets, three ton aluminium bundles and scrap.

During second the operation which was conducted in Baghbani area, the Customs authorities raided a godown and seized carpets and smuggled generators. One person who was identified as Ghulam Mohammad was taken into custody. All the smuggled items were being smuggled from Afghanistan through Chaman border.
