HAVANA: The Italian-Swiss company MSC Crociere SA is among the four largest in the world behind Carnival Corporation & PLC, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Norwegian-Star Cruises, is thus the first large international cruise line to operate in Cuba.
MSC Opera will sail from Havana (where passengers will be two nights and two days and a half) on seven-night cruises that will make stops in Montego Bay (Jamaica), Georgetown (Cayman Islands) and Cozumel (Mexico).
Carnival, another major cruise companies in the world will arrive in Havana in 2016, through its new brand of social impact Fathom and with a smaller boat, the Adonia, 710 passengers.
