PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has filed a reference in an accountability court against a former director general of the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA), a land acquisition collector and five others for allegedly misappropriating Rs150 million funds of purchasing land for a housing scheme.
the NAB claimed that former PHA DG Javed Ahmad, land acquisition collector Naveed Qadir, and five others, including some landowners, were involved in embezzlement of funds meant for a housing scheme at Jalozai, Nowshera.
The reference stated that PHA acquired land under the Land Acquisition Act, 1984 and determined total compensation to be paid to landowners at Rs1015.175 million. However, the reference alleged a loss of Rs150 million was inflicted on the exchequer as extra money was paid to illegal and fake landowners.
