Rawalpindi Excise collects Rs 1.6m from tax defaulter, unregistered vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation Department recovered Rs 1.6 million from token tax defaulter and unregistered vehicles.

According to the details, on the direction of Excise and Taxation Director Tanveer Abbas Gondal, the staff conducted operation against the token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in all the four districts of Rawalpindi Division and challaned 1036 vehicles here the other day.

Sources told that Excise and Taxation Officers Raiz Qurashi imposed fine on 293 vehicles on token tax defaulters and unregistered of the vehicles, Faisal Malik challaned 160 vehicles, Younas Ahmed 110 vehicles, Sohail Shahzeb 107 vehicles, Saleem Sadiq 106 vehicles, Mushtaq Shah 215 vehicles and Malik Amjed imposed fine on 154 vehicles.

The sources added that seven squad of the excise department took part in the operation in four districts of Rawalpindi Division.
