Anti-Corruption Establishment registers corruption cases against six police officials

SIALKOT: Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered separate corruption cases against six police officials, including three SHOs. It also issued arrest warrants for two other government officials, including inspector environment for taking bribe, misusing their official powers, embezzlement and fraud.

Rana Abdul Shakur (Regional Director ACE Gujranwala Division) told Customs Today that the ACE has registered cases against accused inspector Iqbal Goraya (posted as SHO in Gujranwala district) for taking Rs  0.2 million bribe, inspector Muhammad Nawaz (posted as SHO in Mandi Bahaud Din district) for taking Rs 20,000 as bribe, inspector Rehmat Ali (posted as SHO in Narowal district) for taking Rs  20,000 as bribe, ASI Tajjamal Sadiq Sandhu (Gujranwala district) for taking Rs 50,000 bribe, ASI Sarfraz Nawaz (Narowal district) for taking Rs 0.2 million as bribe and ASI Faisal Javaid (Hafizabad district) for taking Rs 60,000 as bribe in different cases.

Regional Director ACE added that the ACE conducted detailed inquiries against the said accused corrupt police officials, which proved them guilty in these inquiries and after it the ACE has registered separate cases against them, in this regard.

He revealed that the ACE has also issued the arrest warrants of accused inspector Qaiser Ahmed (posted at Gujrat in environment department) for taking Rs. 10,000 as bribe and accused forest guard Fiaz Ahmed (posted at Gujranwala in forest department) for taking Rs.12000 as bribe,
