Multan Customs seizes 45,000 liters smuggled Iranian diesel

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized an oil tanker loaded with 45,000 liters smuggled Iranian diesel in the jurisdiction of Sakhi Sarwar, a town 130 kilometers away from Multan.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Nisar Ahmad formed a team after receiving a secret information that an oil tanker loaded with smuggled diesel would make an attempt to enter into Punjab.

The customs team intercepted the tanker which was coming from Balochistan on Sakhi Sarwar check post during checking the import documents had been found forged, so the officials seized the tanker under the Customs Act 1969.

The estimated value of confiscated  smuggled diesel is Rs 3.7 million whereas the value of tanker is round about Rs 2.5 million.

It is pertinent to mention here that the customs field unit of Dera Ghazi Khan also seized an oil tanker loaded with 45,000 litre Iranian smuggled diesel a week ago. The officials told Customs Today that the value of that tanker and diesel was round about worth Rs 6.5 million.
