NEW YORK: The Quincy Chamber of Commerce recently announced that it had tapped Maureen A. Rogers to succeed Dean Rizzo as president of the 575-member business organization.
Rizzo had announced this fall his plans to leave the position at the end of the year.
Rogers served as president and chief executive of the Woburn-based North Suburban Chamber of Commerce from 2003 until leaving recently to accept her new job, which she begins in mid-January.
She previously served as executive vice president of the Norwood-based Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, and as government affairs manager, chief lobbyist, and community development manager for the then Quincy-based South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re excited about her hire. She brings a great level of experience to the Chamber of Commerce,” Edward J. Fleming, chairman of the Quincy Chamber’s board of directors, said of Rogers, noting in particular her significant experience working with member-based organizations.
“We believe it’s very important that our president pay particular attention to the membership of our organization,” he said.
