ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector Adjudication Headquarters Ubaid Ullah has said that during the first month of the new year all systems of Collectorate Adjudication will be centralized. He said he had adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption, adding that he will not spare any staff member involved in any kind of corruption.
During an exclusive interview with Customs Today, Deputy Collector Adjudication Ubaid Ullah said that during the months of November and December his Collectorate successfully disposed of 43 cases while the remaining cases will be dispose of in the first month of next year.
He said that Adjudication department will update cases on daily basis, while all the cases will be enter in one register. He said that we are making efforts to streamline entire system of Adjudication Department at the earliest to facilitate tax payers. He said progress on all the cases up to the cadre of superintendents will be available and 80 percent of work is almost completed in this regard.
He said from the start of new year all the cases will be dispose of according to legal time frame and we are making efforts not to keep any case in pending. Obaid Ullah said that software and hardware data of all cases will be update and he forwarded necessary directions to Peshawar Camp Office asking them to register cases on daily basis.
He said that after centralization Adjudication Department will be able to examine that one vehicle which was being used in smuggling should not involve again in smuggling. He said prior to this one vehicle was found involved in smuggling more than one time and separate investigation officer was deputed for one case now all the relevant information will be available by click of a computer key.
He said now it is impossible for a transporter smuggler to hide as we are adopting a comprehensive strategy to check smuggle vehicle. He said that his department is bound to held hearing of case within seven days after receiving a case. We will finalise cases in three to four hearings and issue Order in Original (OnO) in that particular case. If accused party will register their reservations on decision then we will allow them extra time to clear misunderstandings.
Deputy Collector Ubaid Ullah said we are following the policy of merit in our department and want to set an example for our predecessors.
