JAKARTA: Indonesia’s consumer price index is expected to grow at a slower pace to around 3 percent this year, far from last year’s 8.36 percent, a senior minister said here Wednesday.
The projection was made after a meeting between the government and the central bank.
“This year inflation is forecast at about 3 percent. It could be a little bit lower or higher,” Chief Minister of Economics Darmin Nasution said after the meeting.
Official statistics show that the country’s consumer price index stayed at 2.37 percent from January to November this year.
