Customs Inspector Javaid censured for unauthorised absence

ISLAMABAD: Javaid Iqbal Butt, Inspector (BS-16), Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive), Lahore, has been censured for unauthorised absence from duty.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the accused officer under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973. Rizwan Salabat, Additional Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, Lahore, was appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct probe into the account of unauthorised absence from duty which is tantamount to “misconduct”.

After considering the inquiry report and reply of the accused to the show-cause notice and his personal hearing, the Authorised Officer / Chief (Mgt-Customs) has found him guilty of ‘misconduct’ in terms of Rule 3 of the Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973.

The Authorised Officer imposed the minor penalty of ‘censure’ upon Javaid Iqbal Butt under rule 4(1)(a)(i) of the Govt. Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.

The performance allowance will also be discontinued from the date of award of this penalty as given in the Performance Allowance Guide-lines, 2015 and he will have to appear afresh in order to obtain the same. His absence period from May 30, 2014 to till his joining i.e. April 03, 2015 will be treated as leave of kind due and admissible under the Rules.
