Pesco decreases financial deficit by 52%

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has announced to reduce its financial deficit by 52 per cent and showed determination to overcome line losses and improve recovery.

This was claimed by Pesco officials while speaking at the 103rd meeting of the utility’s Board of Directors at Hattar Industrial Estate, presided over by BoD Chairman Malik Mohammad Asad Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, Asad Khan said controlling line losses and improving recovery of dues was a must to ensure smooth power supply to consumers, particularly to the industrial sector. “We are taking keen interest in solving problems of industrialists as they are the main source of Pesco’s revenue,” he assured. He said it was necessary to improve Pesco’s performance and develop it as a consumer-friendly company.

Hattar Industrial Association’s representatives appreciated holding of Pesco meeting at the industrial estate, and presented a charter of demands, including upgrading transmission line of Hattar grid station, replacement of 45-feet structures with 55-feet structures, installation of bigger power transformers, bifurcation of feeders and establishment of a complaint office at the estate.
