Peshawar Customs Intelligence impounds 3 trucks of smuggled goods

PESHAWAR: The Directorate of Custom Intelligence and Investigation on Wednesday foiled a major bid of smuggling and impounded three trucks laden with smuggled goods

Following a tip-off, the Custom Intelligence additional director constituted a team comprising Deputy Director Khial Mohammad, Superintendents Zahor Ali Khan, Fazal Subhan, Senior Intelligence Officer Akmal Shahbaz, Ghulam Sarvar Shafahian, Sher Alam, Masood Khan, Riaz Anjum and Inayatullah.

The custom officer established a picket on Ring Road Square and flagged down the suspected trucks; however the drivers instead of stopping tried to flee.

Later, police and intelligence officers chased all three trucks full of smuggled goods and arrested its drivers. FIRs were registered against them, while further investigation is under progress.

It is to mention here that Customs Intelligence has speed up its operation against smuggled goods in Karkhano Market where huge quantity of smuggled goods are being sold.
