SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 10,000 litres of Iranian diesel and petrol worth Rs 800,000, besides arresting a suspect during an operation.
The Customs Intelligence team, following information regarding the storage of smuggled diesel and petrol, raided a godown near Alia Pur Chowk. The officials recovered 100 drums of petrol and diesel.
Following the recovery of the items, the officials of Customs Intelligence asked the person named Naseer to produce the documents regarding the legal import or lawful possession of the oil, but he could not do the same.
Therefore, the customs officers took the drums into its custody under the prevailing customs laws, while further investigations are underway.
