Customs starts grand operation against non-customs-paid vehicles

KARACHI: The Customs Department has started a grand operation against non-custom-paid vehicles during which the custom intelligence seized several vehicles.

Sources told Customs Today that Mahmood Abbas Superintendent of the ASO constituted special teams which includes Deputy Superintendent Haji Aslam,  Parwez Zardari, Ameen Bhanwar, Sayed Munwar Ali Shah to check the non-customs paid vehicles which are plying on roads.

The sources said that during different road checking customs team seized a non-duty paid  Suzuki Swift car bearing  registration number AAJ-693 (Quetta) in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The sources said market value of seized car is Rs802, 540 which also involves custom duty/taxes amounting to Rs 958392.

Talking to Customs Today Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan said that we are adopting a comprehensive strategy to nab non-duty paid vehicles and there is significant decrease in non-duty paid cars plying on roads.
