Faisalabad customs recovers smuggled items worth Rs 143.4 m in six months

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation seized smuggled items worth Rs 143.4 million during the six months of Fiscal Year 2015-16.

Sources told Customs Today that Addtional Director Mrs. Azmat Tahira formed different teams to curb smuggling meance in jurisdiction of Faisalabad. These teams successfully seizes different items. Customs authorities also registered 67 cass during the said period against accused persons.

Sources said that Customs authorities registered eight cases during the month of July.  While in August seven cases were registered. 12 case were registered in month of September worth Rs 25063675. While 10 case have been registered in month of October worth Rs 17308081. Rs 39054232 revenue generated in month of November against registered 14 cases. 16 cases have been registered in month of December.

Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain constituted a team of intelligence officers consisting of Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO) Main Muhammad Yousaf, Farzand Ali, Muhammad Mansoor Nasir and Asghar Mehdi Naqvi (IO) and Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Iqbal,  Muhammad Rafiq and other conducted the raids.
