Govt determined to promote trade in country: Dastgir

ISLAMABAD: Federal Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that the government is determined to promote trade in the country on international standards.

In a statement, Khurram Dastgir said that during previous two and half years, the government had taken advantage of local and international laws for the defence of country’s trade advantages.

He said the government also had introduced new laws and improved the legislation to promote trade and business in the country. He said due to the endeavours of ministry of commerce, duty on Pakistani PET plastic had been waived off and Pakistan was pursuing the case of PET plastic with World Trade Organization so that in future the country’s industry should not face any such crisis. He said the ministry was also trying to resolve the issue of duty imposed of Pakistani cement by South Africa.
