ALGIERS: A drug trafficker was arrested and 102 kg of cannabis resin was seized Saturday by units of the National Gendarmerie in Tlemcen and Ain Temouchent, said yesterday the Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.
“As part of the fight against smuggling and organized crime, units of the National Gendarmerie of Tlemcen and Ain Temouchent (2nd Military Region) arrested, on 9 January 2016, a drug trafficker and seized 102 kg of cannabis resin, 20,810 litres of fuel and five vehicles,” said the statement.
“Units of the border guards of the operational areas of El Oued (4th Military Region) and In Guezzam (6th Military Region) arrested, in separate operations, a drug trafficker and seized a commercial vehicle, two motorbikes and 900 litres of fuel intended to be smuggled,” added the Ministry’s statement.
