Bangladesh police nab 56 ‘drug peddlers’

DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 56 alleged drug dealers from different areas of the capital during an anti-narcotics special drive in the last 24 hours till 6am Wednesday.

Local police stations and Detective Branch (DB) under the DMP conducted the special drive from 6am on Monday. The law enforcers also recovered 814 Yaba tablets, 143 grams of heroin (brown sugar), 8 bottles of Phensidyl, 100 injections and 1.750 kg of hemp, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Md Maruf Hossain Sarder.
