Multan Customs Adjudication settles 20 cases involving Rs 36m in December

MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication decided 20 various cases, involving Rs 36.183 million during December of the fiscal year 2015-16.

As per details, Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed settled three tax evasion cases of Multan involving Rs 14 million, Additional Collector Fayaz Anwar decided 11 seizure cases involving Rs 18.4 million and Deputy Collector Farhat Ali decided as many as six seizure cases involving Rs 3.78 million. The cases were made by Multan Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the said period.

The Customs Adjudication received 30 new cases of tax evasion and mis-declaration involving Rs 318 million, out of which 19 cases has been assigned to Deputy Collector Farhat Ali, eight cases to Additional Collector Fayaz Anwar and three cases to Collector Raja Tahir Majeed.

Moreover, the adjudication settled 180 various cases of Rs 151.182 million during first six months, while 34 cases have not been decided so far.

Speedy disposal of cases was observed in Customs Adjudication after the direction of the Federal Board of Revenue during running fiscal year.
