Khurram Dastgir to inaugurate Pakistan Single Country Exhibition in Colombo today

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan will formally inaugurate a two-day Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016 in Colombo’s Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) today (Friday) along with senior ministers of the Sri Lankan government.

Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016’ is a high-level expo featuring leading Pakistani organizations and manufacturers of engineering products, auto parts, agro products, textile and clothing, designer wear, handicraft and traditional textiles, cosmetics and herbal products, pharmaceuticals, cutlery, gems and jewellery, furniture, carpets, marble and services.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan is organizing the exhibition in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka. Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan, arrived in Sri Lanka on a two days visit along with senior officials.

Earlier this month during his visit to Sri Lanka the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe launched the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition 2016 in an impressive ceremony held at Temple Trees on 5th January 2016.

The objective of holding the exhibition is to boost the long-standing commercial ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and inviting businesses from the two friendly countries to tap into the growth potential of each other’s economies and leading economies to which they enjoy preferential trade access.

To coincide with the Pakistani Single Country Exhibition, a Pakistan Food Festival is also being organized to present the best of Pakistan’s rich cuisine in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan Food Festival was formally inaugurated on Wednesday evening by the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj Gen ® Syed Shakeel Hussain and Sri Lanka’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affais Hon. S.B. Navinna. Pakistan Food Festival will continue from till January 17 at the Galadari Hotel’s Coffee Shop restaurant.
