LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the federal government and other parties seeking reply in a case against the appointment of chairman of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
According to the details, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard the case in which appellant Abdul Qadoos Mughal argued that Chairman Javaid Iqbal of the tribunal has been appointed by violating the laws, as the appointed person does not fulfil the educational and experience requirements.
The government has posted the Iqbal on the political basis, the counsel argued, adding that it is the violation of the Supreme Court’s judgement. He also urged the court to declare the appointment null and void.
After hearing the arguments, the court has issued notices to the federal government and other parties demanding reply in the case.
