LAHORE: In a bid to beautify the city, the local administration has distributed as many as 30 pushcarts to vendors.
Adviser to Chief Minister Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan and Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal distributed 16 carts among vendors in Fateh Garh Bazaar and 14 in Allama Iqbal Town’s Kareem Block Market.
Addressing the ceremony, Hassaan said that provision of model pushcarts was part of the chief minister’s vision to beautify the city. He said that the project would help ensure sale of hygienic fried and non-fried items. “The scheme will help us achieve the goal of beautifying Lahore,” the adviser said.
Commissioner Sumbal said he hoped that model pushcarts would prove a step in the right direction to beautify the city. “The project will help improve the ‘cart culture’ in Lahore,” the commissioner said.
